how do you get a ten year old to start playing sports?
Its summer now and my 10 year old brother is so lazy nowadays. I dont want him to grow up into a kid doing stupid stuff when hes older so i figure sports would be good for him that will not only give him physical strength but will allow him to develop respecatble social skills He looks like the athletic type and plus he is strong and big for his age..and he has ADHD ( so he is always hyped up)
Whenever i tell him to join a sports team or something he has no interest and its because he hasnt tried anything. He doesnt even like watching it on TV. How can I get him motivated and as well convince my lazy parents to enroll him into a sports team like soccer basketball or football?
And is 10 years old too late to start playing in a league (for children)? Even if he has poor skills ( such as throwing, passing, kicking and running)?
You sound smarter than your parents. They should tell him that he has to pick something & stay in it. I’m sorry, but motivation for a lazy kid is just not something that gets result. That type you have to threaten.
It’s really up to your parents though.
Good luck!
