Michael Jordan’s Playground (NBA Hardwood Classics)

$4.59

Basketball legend Michael Jordan is both subject and star of this video, which begins with a dizzying montage of Jordan’s spectacular moves on the court. That’s followed by dramatic feature about a dejected teenager who doesn’t make the cut at a high school basketball team tryout but who winds up, as if by magic, getting coaching from Jordan himself. Pertinent clips from Jordan’s college and…

Space Jam

$19.98

Although at first glance it looks like a movie dreamed up by a marketing committee (and in some respects it probably was), Space Jam actually defies the odds against it to become a dazzling display of family entertainment. There’s a kind of demented genius to the idea of casting NBA superstar Michael Jordan in a live-action and animated movie costarring the beloved characters from Warner Bros.’ Lo…

Jordan Basketball Shorts

Ever since the beginning of NBA, all professional basketball players have been wearing the same thing. Only the designs and the fabrics evolve through time. But what is certainly different is the popularity that these jerseys get every year or even by the decade. Of course, jerseys from the 1980’s era would be more expensive nowadays, if you can still see any, while NBA jerseys now are also priced highly due to the popularity of the players.

If you can remember when Michael Jordan was still in his early years of playing basketball, their jerseys were a little tight on top while their shorts are very short. Well, it is also because that during those times, the basketball players were lean and tall. Jerseys now are very loose on top while the shorts are obviously longer than before this is probably because of the sizes of our NBA players now. It seems like being bigger and buffer is more advantageous now unlike before. And well, they can’t really make spectacular and super amazing moves if they are wearing such a tight jersey. This is just one of the reasons why jerseys have changed.

One company that has been in the industry of making jerseys from professional sports associations is Mitchell & Ness. They were established since 1904 and have licenses with Major League Baseball, National Football League, National Hockey League and the National Basketball Association. They launched their Hardwood Classics collection in 1998. And by May 2002, USA Today reported that the most popular NBA players for Mitchell & Ness are Julius Erving, then Magic Johnson, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain and Larry Bird. Isn’t it surprising that Jordan is not in the list? Maybe it’s because that during the prime of these basketball players, Jordan was still starting his early years in playing ball.

Why is it dat dem boyz in Seattle are still wearing shorts?

I live in Seattle. It’s January too. And everyday I go to school, I see all dem dorks wearing shorts when it’s below 40 degrees outside. And tha thang dat gets me, most of tha kidz dat are doing dis are tha hip-hop kidz. Dey wear dem Basketball Jordan shorts wit either a sweatshirt or a t-shirt. At least 70% of tha hip-hop kidz do dis (aren’t dey cold?) .

What da hell? Dazz not gangsta! Why do dey do dis when it’s winter in Seattle?

I remember about 2 years ago in my hood…NOBODY would EVER wear shorts EVER! I remember when it wuz summer back den….most of dem hip-hop guys wore jackets outside when it was over 80 degrees outside. And ALL of dem wore baggy jeans. NONE of dem wore shorts.

Now there’s a BIG difference.
It went from dat to wearing shorts in winter. WHAT’S GOING ON?

Not everybody’s wearing shorts, only tha kidz. All tha REAL hip-hop guys (dat walk on da side-walk on tha side of da road a lot) NEVER wear shorts . AND I NEVER WEAR SHORTS. I wear baggy jeans.

because they want to …?
